Blackheads - How To Remove Them?

Blackheads are small bumps which are in the pores of skin. They are generally yellow or black in colour. They are a type of acne which is also called open come done.

Blackheads are called the first stage of acne by medical practitioners. They develop mostly after puberty when hormones start surging into skin and body. The excess of the hormones result in the stimulation of the sebaceous glands. This leads to excess oil in the pores which result in a ball full of oil. They result in clogged pores. When they are exposed to the environment, they may change their colour to black.

Blackheads are there in all types of skin, but mostly develop on oily skin. Blackheads develop when there is a lot of oil production. But another reason for blackheads is when the skin has not been cleaned properly. If the skin is not properly cleaned, there are a lot of dead cells which are accumulated inside the pores. They clog the open pores and result in oil formation which is the main cause for blackhead. Clogged pores are also caused because of excess use of makeup. Excess moistures, sun screens or foundations can also have the same effect as overuse of makeup.

It is a good practice to clean your face before you go to sleep at night. Cleansing is a must, but over scrubbing can lead to skin irritation and anomalies. Our skin does require a certain amount of oil to stay healthy. If there is excess of cleaning, they oil glands will turn reflex. This may result in clogging of the oil glands and acne will be aggravated.

But our skin requires regular cleaning, whether blackheads are present or not. The initial symptoms cannot be seen by naked eye. If the skin is not cleaned properly, dirt will be attracted. Yellow blackheads start which later turns to be black which are hard to remove. It is suggested that the skin should be cleaned properly and regularly. If there is no infection on the blemish, you can remove your blackheads yourself. Be sure to use a sterile material to extract the blackhead. Keep your environment clean.

It is recommended to first steam your face for a few minutes before taking the blackheads out. Place your face over a bowl of hot water and take the steam. Try and keep a towel over your head while taking steam. This will help to open the pores and will eventually make the extraction procedure less painful. They pores will loosen.Use a flat blackhead remover to remove blackhead. They are available at all beauty stores. Do not aggravate the extraction. It may worsen and cause scars on the places where blackheads extraction was done. It also may worsen acne.

If you are unsure of blackhead removal, go to a professional. There are dermatologists who offer cleansing facial which are programmed to keep the skin clean. They may be expensive, but are really worth the price paid for. The results are great.
